Internships
Assignment Length & Hours:
Ideal availability would be a minimum of 5 – 10 hrs per week. This is an unpaid internship. Interns will also have the opportunity to be involved with and participate in interesting events and trainings. Internship could last from 10 weeks to 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of senior members, our intern will participate and assist in some of the following:
- Edit, proofread and write correspondence, reports, and website content.
- Enter, track and analyze various forms of data.
- Perform administrative duties in support of events & meetings.
- Assist with large mailings and distribution of program materials.
- Conduct web-based and other types of research.
- Post website content updates and help manage online forums.
- Catalog and organize files such as transcripts, articles, photos.
- Organize and setup various files and tracking systems.
- Develop content for various ZAV workshops.

Qualifications
- Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program are encouraged to apply as are those with a degree in Environmental Studies, Sustainable Communities or a related field.
- Excellent written communications, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required;
- Successful intern candidates will have general administrative skills, outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communications skills; expertise in proofreading and editing; computer literacy with experience in using MS-Office, databases, email and will be technology/web savvy.
- Candidates should also possess a strong desire to learn about and support ZAV’s mission.
- Strong organization skills; must be detail oriented;
- Self-starter; ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
- Team orientation; balanced focus on personal accountability and team goals.
- All qualifications mentioned above are preferred but not necessary.
Research Intern
Project Objectives:
To study the process of career choices among School & PU College students
To undertake the following activities and deliver results:
i. Design and develop innovative sales and marketing plan ii. Prepare and execute the plan for the defined territory iii. Research the customers, explore the requirements, submit the proposals, undertake negotiations and close the deals.
Desired Profile:
- MBA (Marketing/ HR) – Team of 2-3 Students, with
- A high degree of conceptual skills
- Ability and maturity to interact with senior educational authorities
- Good written as well as verbal communication skills
- Willingness to work 6 hrs a day between Monday-Friday
- Ready to travel
Training/Induction:
The selected candidates will be provided appropriate training on products and services, and the existing marketing and sales process
Learning Opportunity:
The interns can expect to learn through real life environment and get their professional skills honed in the process. The learning will happen in the following areas:
- Entire marketing/sales cycle
- Sales & negotiation skills
- C-level customer interface
- Understanding of the education sector

Training Intern/ Initiative Ideas Intern/ Management Intern
Are you a professional singer, dancer or an artist? Do you love sharing your knowledge and expertise with others on subject matters? ZAV gives you a chance to become a trainer and lead one of ZAV’s various modules.

- Develop content for various ZAV workshops.
- Plan modules and workshops with board members of ZAV.
- Assist in the conduction and completion of workshops.
- Help in making charts, survey sheets and other necessary tools for workshops.
- Lead the workshop, whenever possible.
Qualifications:
- Excellent written communications, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook required;
- Strong organization skills; must be detail oriented;
- Candidates should also possess a strong desire to learn about and support ZAV’s mission.
- Self-starter; ability to work independently and meet deadlines;
- Team orientation; balanced focus on personal accountability and team goals;
- Must have some sort of training or certification in the chosen area of expertise;
- Candidate will have to present idea for workshop in form of a PowerPoint presentation and also hand in a brief statement about the workshop;
- All qualifications mentioned above are preferred but not necessary.

Who is eligible?
If you are generally interested and like the idea of being involved with ZAV, you can intern with us. Being a small set up with lots of activities, we are always in need of an extra pair of hands be it in assisting teachers, managing a workshop, working with kids, or even administration. You just need to be inspired and come with a positive attitude.
Undergraduate students:
Current undergraduate students are eligible for the Internship Program. Due to the rigorous and independent nature of this experience, preference will be given to 2nd year and 3rd year students.
Post Graduate students:
Preference will be given to students returning to College after the internship, with the exception of students in one year Master’s programs.
Is a stipend provided?
No Stipend will be given. An appreciation letter and Certificate will be awarded at the end of the internship.
How many positions are provided versus total number of applicants?
Although we can’t predict the volume of applicants before the close of the online application, we do receive a lot of applicants and the number of slots available will depend on the requirement and the program availability.
What does the review committee look for in candidates?
Strong candidates will be able to meet two or more of the following criteria: relevant coursework, personal or professional experiences in demanding circumstances, second language proficiency, and the ability to work independently.
