Education is often equated to lighting a candle and research is the primary spark required to make the candle glow with knowledge. Centre for Development Studies and Research (CDSR) is a non-academic research institute situated in Western Rajasthan. It is  established by Zav foundation, Bangalore for carrying out research on development issues using a multidisciplinary approach. It facilitates autonomous research through field action, training and capacity building. Researchers at the institute conduct both theoretical and empirical research. The centre aims to foster a culture of enquiry amongst students and scholars and promote learning by insight.

CDSR & Zav Foundation

Education is based on the strong foundation of responsible enquiry and empowerment through active knowledge sharing. A strong foothold in research can contribute towards nation building. Zav Foundation is an NGO that aims at realizing the dream of a stronger, well opinionated and purposeful young India. Zav has designed initiatives that focus on creating awareness among students (specifically students from government schools and rural backgrounds) with respect to careers, opportunities of higher education, leadership and job readiness. This is done through partnering with schools and vocational groups and delivering high quality programs to their benefit. The work is carried out by trained volunteers, professionals and student members who have an expertise in each subject.

Zav has channelled its work based on the following thrusts: Education, Empowerment and Civic Awareness. It is in this line that Zav has established Centre for Development Studies and Research (CDSR)
